Field guide
Everything the scanner sees, explained.
HookGPT reads token rules straight from Solana and explains them before you trade or launch. This page covers exactly what gets read, how the Hook Score is computed, every Hookedpad rule in the registry, and where the limits are. No metaphors in the safety parts — those are literal.
01 · What HookGPT is
Two tools in one terminal. The Scanner takes any Solana mint address and reports what its rules can do to a holder — in plain English, with a score. The Composer takes a plain-English launch idea and maps it to the right Hookedpad rule with settings. HookGPT is read-only: it never asks you to connect a wallet, never holds keys, never signs, and never executes anything.
THE ONE RULE OF OUR AI
Safety verdicts are mechanical — computed from parsed chain data by fixed rules you can read below. The AI writes only the one-line commentary. Token names and descriptions are treated as data, never as instructions, so a token can't sweet-talk its own scan.
02 · The Scanner
Paste a mint on the home terminal (or press / anywhere). The scan runs in about a second and produces: the token's identity and standard, its hook rule matched against our registry, a 7-point safety checklist, the Hook Score, and one roast. Every scan lives at a permanent link — /scan/<mint> — with a share card, so you can drop it in any group chat as receipts.
- · Works on every Solana token — Token-2022 and legacy SPL, not just Hookedpad launches.
- · Paste a hook program address (like the ones Hookedpad tweets) and you get the rule's own card instead: what it enforces, whether it can block sells, verified or not.
- · A plain SPL token still gets a full card: hook checks pass, but freeze/mint authority and fees are reported.
- · Results cache for 10 minutes; unverified-hook results for 1 minute, so registry updates surface fast.
- · Free: 20 scans per hour per IP. $HOOKGPT holder tiers will lift this.
03 · What it reads from the mint
Token-2022 lets a mint carry extensions — powers that apply to every holder. Each one is read directly from the chain on every scan:
| Check | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Transfer hook | A program runs on every buy, sell and send, and can refuse any of them. The core of Hookedpad rules — and of honeypots, when the program is unknown. |
| Permanent delegate | An address that can move or burn ANY holder's tokens, forever. The single biggest red flag on Solana. |
| Transfer fee | A tax taken out of every transfer. The % is read from chain, not from the project's marketing. |
| Freeze authority | An address that can freeze individual holders' token accounts. |
| Default account state | If new accounts start FROZEN, you can receive the token but not move it until someone thaws you. Classic trap. |
| Non-transferable | Soulbound — can never be sent or sold at all. |
| Mint authority | If live, more supply can be minted at any time. |
04 · The Hook Score
Every token starts at 100 and loses points per finding. The weights are fixed and public — the same for every token, never tuned per project:
| Unverified transfer hook | −60 |
| Rule can block sells | −25 |
| Rule can block sells conditionally (size / timing / venue) | −10 |
| Permanent delegate | −40 |
| Accounts frozen by default | −30 |
| Non-transferable (soulbound) | −20 |
| Freeze authority live | −15 |
| Transfer fee above 5% | −15 |
| Transfer fee 1–5% | −5 |
| Mint authority live | −10 |
A high score means the mint's rules are clean. It says nothing about the chart, the team, or whether the token is a good idea. That part is still on you.
05 · What “verified” means (exactly)
“Verified Hookedpad program” means one thing: the hook's program ID matches our registry of 34 known rule programs, captured from Hookedpad's public docs (2026-10-03) with every address linked to Solscan. It does not mean immutable: Hooked's own docs state their deploy wallet can upgrade the hook programs (to fix bugs). An unknown program gets the UNVERIFIED tier — we don't guess about code that runs on every transfer.
06 · Rule library — every Hookedpad rule
All 36 rules the scanner can identify, grouped the way Hookedpad groups them. “Blocks sells” is what matters most when you're on the buying side.
WHO CAN HOLD
| Rule | What it does | Blocks sells? | Program |
|---|---|---|---|
| Allowlist | Only wallets on a Merkle-rooted list uploaded at launch can receive the token; the proof travels in each trade.Trades via Hooked's own route. | No | 3uxo…99Zs ↗ |
| Holder-gated | Receiving wallets must already hold a token the creator picks (membership token, NFT or coin); checked on every buy and transfer.Trades via Hooked's own route. | No | 2Wsd…tSGx ↗ |
WHEN YOU CAN SELL
| Rule | What it does | Blocks sells? | Program |
|---|---|---|---|
| Holder vesting | Each wallet's tokens unlock on its own clock from purchase: cliff, then fixed share per period. A wallet can only sell what has unlocked.Trades via Hooked's own route. | Conditional | 3MYb…DHuo ↗ |
| Anti-dump caps | Buys and sells are capped separately, so buying stays free while no single trade can dump a big bag. | Conditional | Ft8R…QJ6f ↗ |
| Sliding caps | Per-buy and per-sell caps change at up to five market-cap levels (e.g. sell cap 1% at launch, 0.1% from $1M). Price read from the token's own pool; nobody exempt, creator included. | Conditional | 8uDC…G9VA ↗ |
| Graduated sell caps | Small holders sell freely; the bigger a wallet's bag, the smaller its per-sell cap, down to a floor. Whales exit in pieces. | Conditional | 9Am6…or2Z ↗ |
FAIR LAUNCH
| Rule | What it does | Blocks sells? | Program |
|---|---|---|---|
| Max per wallet | Refuses any buy or transfer that would push the receiving wallet over the cap (e.g. 1% of supply). Pool and creator exempt.Creator lever: Creator can exempt up to 15 extra wallets. | No | BVM8…5TDC ↗ |
| Chapters | Max-per-wallet that doubles every time total traded volume crosses a chapter threshold. Selling into the pool always works. | No | A7m1…hQsc ↗ |
| Breathing cap | An oscillator inside the hook swings the per-buy cap up and down on a fixed cycle, forever: wide open at the peaks, tight at the troughs. Momentum/resonance variants let buying 'rev up' the cap. Sells and sends are never capped; creator exempt. | No | C7Wh…nFmk ↗ |
| Chapters | Max-per-wallet that doubles every time total traded volume crosses a chapter threshold. Selling into the pool always works. | No | AFQC…bJnn ↗ |
| Rising max per wallet | Every wallet's max holding starts small and rises forever on a timer (fixed step or doubling). Snipers can only grab tiny bags at launch. | No | 6AH1…Syp3 ↗ |
| Sniper-fee cap | During a launch window, refuses buys paying more than a priority-fee/Jito-tip cap. Sells never blocked; creator exempt. | No | BPVE…z7Fp ↗ |
| Trade guard | Every buy, sell and transfer capped at the same share of supply (e.g. 0.5%); anything bigger is refused inside the swap. | Conditional | 9Kvw…J31z ↗ |
| Anti-bundle | Counts trades per Solana block and refuses any past the limit, so bundlers can't buy up a launch in one shot. | Conditional | AsqN…LaY8 ↗ |
| Anti-bundle | Counts trades per Solana block and refuses any past the limit, so bundlers can't buy up a launch in one shot. | Conditional | 7zxh…fmQr ↗ |
| Max per wallet | Refuses any buy or transfer that would push the receiving wallet over the cap (e.g. 1% of supply). Pool and creator exempt.Creator lever: Creator can exempt up to 15 extra wallets. | No | 4Gsx…uK8n ↗ |
| Trade guard | Every buy, sell and transfer capped at the same share of supply (e.g. 0.5%); anything bigger is refused inside the swap. | Conditional | D92g…8gAr ↗ |
COMBINING RULES
| Rule | What it does | Blocks sells? | Program |
|---|---|---|---|
| Custom hook (AI-written rules) | Hookedpad's AI-written rule engine: describe the token in plain words and the AI writes up to 64 rules (trade size, per-wallet history, clock/time zones, market cap, fees, originating app), compiled and tested, stored on-chain at launch and fixed for good. What it can refuse depends entirely on the written rules — read the token's rule set on Hookedpad before trading. | Depends | 9eQy…3CnL ↗ |
| Combined hook | Two or more combinable rules in one hook program, each behaving exactly like its single-rule version. Fixed at launch; trades on any DEX. Scanner must decode which rules are active. | Depends | C3vE…WbdR ↗ |
THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS
| Rule | What it does | Blocks sells? | Program |
|---|---|---|---|
| SPEC.fun extensions | SPEC.fun's single hook program: each coin switches on rules via flag bits in a per-mint config PDA — max per wallet, trade guard, anti-dump, DEX-only, P2P-only, lockup-until-date, expiring token, trading windows, market hours, blocklist, soulbound, launch delay, equal start. Which rules run (and whether sells can be refused) depends on that coin's flags — some bits (blocklist, soulbound, lockup) CAN block sells.Creator lever: Upgrade authority: SPEC vault. Per-coin flags written at launch by their vault. | Depends | FKTN…eSSa ↗ |
| HUKT hook library | HUKT's composable preset library (Royalty, Whitelist, Blacklist, Vesting, AntiBot, KYCGate, FeeOnTransfer, Soulbound). Which presets a token composes determines what can be refused — Whitelist/KYCGate/Soulbound CAN block transfers and sells. | Depends | 4q7T…V9aC ↗ |
HOOKGPT
| Rule | What it does | Blocks sells? | Program |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hook Book | HookGPT's own open-source transfer hook: an on-chain ledger of a token's first 1111 unique holders (wallet, first amount, slot) plus a total-transfer counter. It cannot block, tax, or alter a transfer — the execute path has no deny branch. Permissionless: any Token-2022 mint may use it. | No | E4ke…gcNm ↗ |
COLLECTIONS
| Rule | What it does | Blocks sells? | Program |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pegs | The supply becomes a fixed collection of numbered objects (up to 65,535), one per whole unit: buying across a unit mints a numbered object with its own art, selling below one burns your newest, sends move your newest objects along.Trades via Hooked's own route. | No | 2Jwc…i3Md ↗ |
WHERE IT TRADES
| Rule | What it does | Blocks sells? | Program |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venue-locked | Trades only through its Meteora pool; plain wallet-to-wallet sends are refused, so nothing moves off-market. | No | 3uxo…99Zs ↗ |
| DEX-only | Moves only when a program moves it (e.g. a pool swap); plain wallet-to-wallet sends refused. Pool trading normal. | No | 4FYZ…9Xom ↗ |
| FOMO-only buys | Buys must be co-signed by the FOMO app; all other buys refused. Required dev buy at launch. Selling and sending always work; rule ends at graduation.Creator lever: Dev wallet permanently whitelisted; Hooked's flywheel wallet may buy the last sliver pre-graduation. | No | 4Tab…qMB5 ↗ |
| Pump App only | Buys only via the Pump app's tagged Jupiter-API/OKX route; jup.ag, terminals and direct pool buys refused. Other apps on the same API could pass. Sells and sends always work; ends at graduation.Creator lever: Dev wallet permanently whitelisted. | No | BXax…Ta28 ↗ |
| Social trading | Buys AND sells only in FOMO or the Pump app. No exit outside the two apps — if both stop trading it, nobody can sell. Sends always work; ends at graduation.Creator lever: Dev wallet permanently whitelisted. | Conditional | DMoh…Tv8M ↗ |
| OpenSea only | Trades only on OpenSea (swaps must carry OpenSea's marker); no exit elsewhere. Sends always work; ends at graduation. OpenSea hasn't yet been seen trading a curve token.Creator lever: Dev wallet permanently whitelisted. | Conditional | Vqzx…WVPW ↗ |
| P2P-only | Moves only wallet-to-wallet; nobody can buy or sell on a market until the curve graduates. Only the creator can buy from the curve. Always a graduating curve. | Yes | B9HA…VQaT ↗ |
WHEN IT TRADES
| Rule | What it does | Blocks sells? | Program |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ping Pong | Buys and sells alternate for everyone, creator included. Dust trades don't take the turn; stale turns free up after a timeout. Sends always work. | Conditional | Bf7e…84dk ↗ |
| Market hours | Trades only Mon–Fri 9:30–16:00 New York time (holidays optional). Creator chooses whether sells stay open after hours. Sends always work. Can pair with tokenized stocks (NVDAx, TSLAx). | Conditional | EZet…iJKk ↗ |
WHO GETS PAID
| Rule | What it does | Blocks sells? | Program |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buyer rewards | A creator-funded vault pays every qualifying buyer a reward, claimable on Hooked, while the vault lasts. Minimum buy size stops dust-draining.Trades via Hooked's own route. | No | 3MNV…auok ↗ |
| Tithe | Royalty-style enforcement where every trade donates a fixed SOL amount to a named cause (charity, treasury, public-goods fund).Trades via Hooked's own route. | Conditional | 3uxo…99Zs ↗ |
LINKED TOKENS
| Rule | What it does | Blocks sells? | Program |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reactive pair | Two tokens watch each other: each one's per-buy cap loosens while the partner is bought and tightens while it's sold. Sells never capped. Launched as a pair.Creator lever: Creator can retune its settings after launch. | No | BCiJ…BUxM ↗ |
| Entangled | Stays locked until its Beacon token's market cap hits a target (e.g. $20,000); then unlocks for good, even if the Beacon falls back. | Yes | 8h3i…BJ7U ↗ |
| Beacon | Trades freely with no cap; its hook records the highest market cap reached, which unlocks its Entangled partner. | No | 8h3i…BJ7U ↗ |
Combinable rules: trade-guard, anti-dump-caps, graduated-sell-caps, max-per-wallet, chapters, anti-bundle, dex-only, fomo-only-buys, rising-max-per-wallet, sniper-fee-cap. Pairs that can't combine: trade-guard + anti-dump-caps; anti-dump-caps + graduated-sell-caps; max-per-wallet + chapters; max-per-wallet + rising-max-per-wallet; chapters + rising-max-per-wallet. On graduating curves the hook is removed in the buy that fills the curve; permanent curves keep the rule for the token's life.
07 · The Composer
Describe the token you want to launch — “no wallet over 1%, no snipers, early buyers vest a week” — and the Composer picks the best-matching Hookedpad rule, fills in its settings with the platform defaults, names a runner-up, and deep-links you into Hookedpad's launcher. HookGPT does the thinking; Hookedpad does the signing. Budget about 0.1 SOL for a launch (Hookedpad's rent and fees), and note some rules require a dev buy.
08 · API

10 · Safety
- HookGPT never asks for anything. No wallet connect, no signatures, no seed phrases, no DMs. Anyone asking in our name is a scammer.
- A scan is not an endorsement. LOOKS CLEAN means the mint's rules are clean — the token can still go to zero on vibes alone.
- Check the mint you were sent. Scammers clone tickers. The scan card shows the full mint with a copy button; compare it character by character.
- $HOOKGPT's CA will appear on this site first. Any address posted anywhere else before that is fake.
- Unverified ≠ malicious, but treat it that way. New legit hooks exist; until a program is in the registry, assume it can refuse your sell.
11 · FAQ
Does it only work on Hookedpad tokens?
No — any Solana mint. Hookedpad tokens additionally get their rule identified by name; other Token-2022 tokens get the full extension checklist; legacy SPL tokens get authorities and fee checks.
Can a token pay for a better score?
No. The weights are fixed in code and public above. The AI can't change a score — it only writes the one-liner.
Why did a token's score change?
Either its mint changed (authority revoked, fee changed) or our registry learned a new program. Scans read live chain state.
The hook says verified — am I safe?
Safer, not safe. Verified means we know which rule runs and what it can do; the rule itself may still restrict you (that's what the checklist says), and programs are upgradeable by Hooked.
Do you store my scans?
A scan is a public permalink; the recent-feed shows the latest ones. We don't know who you are — there are no accounts.
Is any of this financial advice?
No. NFA, every card, every time.
